Disasters

Recently there have been bad news over two particular area in the Asia region which is Myanmar and China. The first disaster in Myanmar was i think unexpected as the cyclone suddenly hit the area. I feel that there is not enough details or evidences to allow others to investigate how it happen to prevent it from causing further damages by warning the people early. I believe the Myanmar junta held up too many things which causes further distress among the people in the affected region as well as those trying to help from overseas. The delay in allowing aid from many countries to the affected areas may increase the death tolls and allows diseases to spread more quickly. I hope that the affected people will carry on with their lifes and the aid relief teams could help to clear up the area as fast as possible.

I think the second disaster was more of a killer when the earthquake struck several regions in China. Death tolls was estimated to be over 15,000 and more are to be expected. It been days since the earthquake struck and hopes for survivors trapped in rumbles is slim. Most of the deaths has been childrens who are in school at the point of time and they could not rush out of safety. Most are the only child in the family due to China's policy of 1 child per family due to overcrowded population. The people should have read the signs when toads began to move away from their 'house' to other location which signal something, especially when u see thousands of toads 'travelling'. I dont think it is that common to see these stuffs. Soldiers and rescuers are finding it difficult to get to the affected areas as mountains and jammed roads are hindering the movement of reliefs. Many are also suffering from the aftermath of the earthquake which deals them a pyschological blow and would need time to heal.

I pray for more survivors in both countries and hope that they would carry on in life. Well, as a christian, thats what i can do other than donating some money.
